Film, Food, Drones and Fun
Over two creative weeks at Porthi Dre, our Youth Club turned into a buzzing film set—thanks to a hands-on workshop with Academi Sgrin, Bangor University and filmmaker Owain Llyr.
Young people aged 11–15 got to work with cameras, boom mics, and even drones—learning how to capture sound, shoot aerial footage and bring their stories to life.
To round off the project, the group visited Stiwdio Aria in Llangefni on 30 April, getting a behind-the-scenes look at professional editing and production.
The short film they made will be screened at Youth Club next week – and we can’t wait to share it!
We believe creative opportunities like this are vital. They help young people build confidence, explore new skills and feel safe being themselves.
Our Youth Club runs every Wednesday from 6–8pm – with a free hot meal, a safe, welcoming space, and activities with artists, filmmakers, circus groups and more.
All children are welcome – and we’re always looking for new volunteers to join the fun.
