What does it mean to “feed a town”? For us, it started with simple ideas: warm meals, open doors, and trust. From those beginnings, Porthi Dre has become a vibrant community hub in the heart of Caernarfon – one that connects people, generations, and ideas.
We’re proud to share this new short film:

Porthi Dre – The Story So Far is told through the voices of Anne Evans and Geraint Thomas, two of the people who know this place inside out. Their words reflect the values that shape everything we do: care, connection, and community.
Filmed and produced by Dion Wyn (dionwynmedia.co.uk), the video showcases the wide range of activity that takes place at the hub – from weekly youth clubs to community meals, gardening to craft sessions, wellbeing programmes, arts projects, and spaces to simply meet and belong.
It’s a glimpse of the energy and effort that goes into making the space work – but also a reminder that it only works because of the people who use it, shape it, and bring it to life.
We’re incredibly grateful to Dion for capturing the spirit of Porthi Dre so thoughtfully – and to Anne and Geraint for giving the story a voice.
