Celebrating British Science Week with Sbarduno at Porthi Dre!

This week at Porthi Dre, we marked British Science Week with two fantastic sessions in collaboration with Sbarduno, bringing hands-on science fun to both ends of our community!

On March 10th, our Clwb Hwyl members (ages 60+) enjoyed a brilliant science workshop as part of their weekly session. Clwb Hwyl offers a space for older people to socialise, enjoy a free meal, and take part in engaging activities—and this week was no exception! Awen from Sbarduno led a fascinating experiment-filled session that sparked curiosity and plenty of laughter.

Then, on March 12th, it was our Youth Club’s turn to get stuck in! The young people had the chance to create lava lamps, and experiment with chromatography—all while learning the science behind them. As always, the evening included a free meal and a great opportunity to try something new. Awen led the session once again, making science fun and hands-on.

A huge thank you to Awen and Sbarduno for bringing science to life at Porthi Dre! I think we all learned something new... and had a fantastic time!
