Official Opening
On Friday, October 20, the Official Opening of Porthi Dre was held. Brief presentations by Cai Larsen (Chair of Porthi Dre), Anne Evans (Project Manager), Alun Roberts (Gelli), Alun Wyn Jones (Deputy Clerk), Anna Jane, Dawn Lynne Jones, Ann Hopcyn, Kenny Khan and Geraint Thomas (chef) traced the development of this remarkable centre and a feast was provided by Geraint Thomas and his enthusiastic and unassuming volunteers. Some fifty people gathered to hear about Porthi Dre's history, and the message was clear that there was always a warm welcome and ready support available at Porthi Dre.
